I have been a committee member of the NAWBO U project since its inception. Ashton Teaching Excellence Award procedure and will be involved again for the 2006 recipient. I was able to participate on the Teaching Excellence Award Committee in selecting the 2005 Marvin J. University of Utah, Beta Alpha Psi Faculty Advisor. This has involved various meetings as we have been looking to create new courses in the near future. I have been working with the Undergraduate Committee. Beta Alpha Psi Faculty Advisor, 2010-2011. Hosted the Beta Alpha Psi regional meeting in Salt Lake City, March of 2011. Participant in the Daniels Fund Ethic Initiative event, 2014. Member, Advisory Board, School of Accounting, David Eccles School of Business, University of Utah, 2004-present She loves the University of Utah and the opportunity to associate with amazing students and professionals. She loves to exercise, cook, read, and travel. They have six children, 12 granddaughters and three grandsons. Marci is married to Cleon (Lee) Butterfield (CFO of Utah Housing Corporation). As a national gymnastics judge, Marci judged at all levels of competition including NCAA Collegiate National Finals twice. Marci also enjoys the sport of women’s gymnastics and was involved as a gymnastics judge for nineteen years. She has also been recognized by the Daniels Fund Ethics Leadership for her work in her 2600 course creation. She was the Chapter Advocate for the Rocky Mountain and Missouri Valley Regions of Beta Alpha Psi from 2018-2021. She has been fortunate to receive numerous teaching awards such as Outstanding Faculty Award for Beta Alpha Psi, Excellence in Education Award from the LDSSA, and UACPA Outstanding Educator. She teaches introductory classes in financial and managerial accounting in the undergraduate program and is the faculty advisor for Beta Alpha Psi. She joined the School of Accounting in fall of 2003. She joined the global public accounting firm of Arthur Andersen in the Audit and Assurance Division. Marci received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Utah. To earn three (3) points (executive board only): Officers must attend 50% of club meetings for the semester and 100% of club activities including community service. To earn two (2) points: Members must attend a minimum of 50% of club/organization meetings for the semester and 75% of club/organization activities PLUS the community service event. To earn one (1) point: Members must attend a minimum of 50% of club/organization meetings for the semester and 50% of club/organization activities. Earn Priority Points through Clubs and Activities When we are able to host in-person events again, the location of meetings typically changes, but we send an email prior to each meeting regarding the location. During COVID-19, we have shifted to an online platform and host all of our meetings remotely through Zoom or other live video platforms. Meetings almost always occur during activity hour on Wednesdays, between 11:15 am and 12:15 pm. Our role on campus is to connect students to professionals in the industry through networking events, along with giving students assistance in applications, leadership roles, and volunteer opportunities. Beta Alpha Psi is the International Honor Society for Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems students.
